With 11 offices across Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and North America, INVNT brings expanded creative, strategy and production capabilities to the combined company.

The deal was supported by private equity partner Shamrock Capital and represents a significant expansion of Shamrock's commitment to the experiential market while bolstering Nth Degree's continued growth and global expansion. Shamrock announced its initial strategic investment in Nth Degree in September 2024.

Mit dem Start der NASA-Mission Artemis II von Cape Canaveral ist Thüringen an einem der sichtbarsten Raumfahrtprojekte der Gegenwart beteiligt. Eine zentrale Rolle spielt dabei ein Sternensensor der Jena-Optronik GmbH, der die exakte Ausrichtung und Navigation des Raumschiffs übernimmt. Er gilt als eine Art „Kompass der Mission“ und soll die Raumkapsel auf ihrem Weg in die Mondumlaufbahn präzise auf Kurs halten.
Artemis II ist die erste bemannte Mondmission seit Apollo 17 im Jahr 1972 und auf rund zehn Tage angelegt. Ziel ist es, Navigation, Kommunikation und Lebenserhaltungssysteme unter realen Einsatzbedingungen zu testen, bevor weitere Schritte des Mondprogramms folgen. Für die Steuerung des Raumschiffs sind die optischen Navigationssysteme entscheidend: Die Sternensensoren kombinieren Optik mit Bildverarbeitung und nutzen die Position von Sternen zur Orientierung im All.
Nach Unternehmensangaben kommt es bei der Mondmission besonders auf Genauigkeit an, da bereits kleinste Fehler aufgrund der großen Distanz zwischen Erde und Mond zu erheblichen Kursabweichungen führen können. Entsprechend hoch sind auch die Anforderungen an die Software, vor allem bei einer bemannten Mission. Im Projektteam der Jena-Optronik werde daher besonderes Augenmerk auf diese Aspekte gelegt, heißt es aus dem Unternehmen, das seit Jahrzehnten Systeme zur Lageregelung von Satelliten und Raumfahrzeugen entwickelt.
Die Beteiligung an Artemis II knüpft an eine lange Raumfahrttradition in Jena an, die bis in die DDR-Zeit zurückreicht. Sternen-, Rendezvous- und Dockingsensoren aus Thüringen waren bereits bei zahlreichen Weltraummissionen im Einsatz. Die Staatskanzlei in Erfurt spricht mit Blick auf die aktuelle Mission von einem neuen Kapitel der bemannten Raumfahrt, in dem Thüringen „mittendrin“ sei. Ministerpräsident Mario Voigt verfolgte den Start der Raumkapsel mit vier Astronauten den Angaben zufolge live bei der Jena-Optronik und bezeichnete den Einsatz der Technik aus dem „Grünen Herzen Deutschlands“ als starkes Signal für die Innovationskraft des Standorts.
